Meeting May 24, 2010

Including 4 speakers and
4 board members, 40 people assembled at 630pm.
Larry called the meeting
to order at 6:45 pm.
Board businesses was
conducted via a clip board ballot whereby minutes
for
February, March and April were
approved and a motion passed to add Al Jesse to the Board in
the vacancy left by Stephanie Yun. Larry promoted participation
in the Neighborhood Spokesman Program, Good Samaritan Program,
the June 12 Weed Pull, BANA membership and a call for board
nominations for the election in the fall. The program of guest
speakers and their respective discussions began at 7:00 and
ended at 8:05 pm.
Steve Jorgensen
represented Bend Parks and Recreation District and told of new
parks and future plans. Rick Williams represented ODOT and
explained the status and timeline of the effort to fix the US
97 corridor through Cooley Road. Jerry Mitchell represented the
City of Bend and was supported by David Dietz of Development
Management Associates in explaining recent actions and plans
for developing Juniper Ridge. Questions and comments filled the
allotted time and were dominated by awareness of the recent
approval of emission application by Suterra LLC. Except for Mr.
Jorgensen, the speakers entertained questions and comments
until 830 pm.
